CSU women’s basketball defeats Ohio Dominican 94-52

The Cleveland State women’s basketball team took down Ohio Dominican 94-52 after a 3:30 p.m. match on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Wolstein Center with 539 in attendance.

With this victory, the Vikings currently hold an overall of 3-2, remaining undefeated at home (2-0).

Early on in the match, the Vikings were able to take advantage and build upon a lead with a score of 19-13 at the 10-minute mark. Junior Jordana Reisma contributed 11 points and would later extend the lead going into the second quarter.

Cleveland State started out the second quarter of play with a score of 21-13, opening up strong with a shot by senior Kali Howard. CSU proceeded with a 6-0 run that would put a 10-point gap between the two teams. Going into the half, graduate student Mickayla Perdue scored six points to bring the score to 40-26 to close the frame. 

Unsurprisingly, the vikings picked up  where they left off, opening up the second half of play with a three-pointer within the first 30 seconds by graduate student Destiny Leo. As the quarter progressed, the Green and White  continued to build on their lead, closing the frame with a score of 71-44. The momentum was carried into the fourth quarter, bringing CSU to a dominant 94-52 victory. 

CSU women’s basketball  will participate in the Big Easy Classic in New Orleans, taking on Louisiana on Friday, Nov. 29 at noon, and afterwards, Lamar on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2:15 p.m..
