Week 11 sees first decrease in number of crime log entries since week seven – The Cauldron

In the first week with a decrease in the number of crime reports since the end of February, there were 12 reports listed in the Cleveland State Sixty Day Crime Log from March 31 through April 6.

Partially accounting for the decrease were two fire alarms, as compared to the four fire alarms from the week prior. Still, almost half of the reports can be accounted for with two fire alarms and three supervisory smoke alarms.

Of the six counts which remain open, four took place in two separate incidents at the residence halls. The Edge saw one count each of criminal damaging or endangering and motor vehicle trespass, while Fenn Tower saw three counts of assault with two remaining open and one transported to the hospital. Telecommunications harassment and menacing, the other two open charges, took place at a location described as “Other” on April 1.

Also at the residence halls was a charge of aggravated menacing which was referred to student judicial. Elsewhere on campus, two counts of criminal trespassing at Berkman Hall were referred to the prosecutor. Arrests were made in two counts of felony warrants at the Urban Affairs building.

Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the list of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.
