maximios May 4, 2025 Guide

Cleveland State University (CSU) saw semester-high crime in the month of April, with over 30 crimes reported, according to the CSU 60-day crime log.

Criminal trespass was the most reported crime of the month, with a total of five incidents. It was followed by five reports of theft or petty theft, three separate felony warrants, two reports of criminal damaging or endangering, two reports of obstructing official business and two traffic stops that ended in fleeing.

Two of the five reports of theft or petty theft were felonies, both of which are now suspended. One of the petty theft reports took place in Lot 27 on April 3, accompanied by a charge of motor vehicle trespass. Both charges on this report remain open.

A report made on April 4 lists a charge of aggravated menacing in the Student Center, which has since led to an arrest.

A report on April 2 lists the following crimes: failure to control a vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and driving under suspension/revocation. A similar report on April 15 outlines the same crimes, with two additional charges of failure to stop after an accident and obstructing official business. Both occurred off campus and ended in arrests.

Another arrest was made for a crime report taking place at the Science Building on April 25, with the listed charges being resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

A report of public indecency in Berkman Hall, made on April 26, remains open.

Using the 60-day crime log available in person at the CSU Police Department and online, students can access the list of crimes from the past week. Below, they have been compiled into one list for the month of April.
