Slight increase in crime reports include fire alarms, arrests and criminal mischief – The Cauldron

Continuing a weekly increase of two or three reports since the beginning of March, there were 15 reports listed in the Cleveland State Sixty Day Crime Log from March 24 through March 30. Once again, almost half of the reports can be accounted for with four fire alarms and three supervisory smoke alarms.

On March 29, two separate incidents, one in Berkman Hall and the other in the Student Center, were reported between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. involving a combined 10 charges. From Berkman Hall, six counts of criminal mischief remain open. From the Student Center, criminal mischief on school property, two counts of aggravated menacing and one count of aggravated trespass were referred to the prosecutor.

Other reports included arrests made for misdemeanor warrants in separate incidents in the Student Center and the Music and Communications Building. Another off-campus incident, which remained open, involved willfully fleeing or eluding police in addition to other traffic violations.

In the residence halls, two counts of burglary were reported from Fenn Tower, and petty theft and motor vehicle trespass were reported at The Langston.

Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the linst of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.
