Semester-low crime reports over spring break  – The Cauldron

maximios April 4, 2024 Guide

Week eight of the semester, from Mar. 3 through Mar. 9, and spring break, from Mar. 10 through Mar. 16, both saw semester-low crime reports. Combined, the two weeks had 17 reports, fewer than the 18 reports in week seven alone.

From Mar. 3 through Mar. 7, there were no incidents reported in the Cleveland State Sixty Day Crime Log, which marks the longest stretch of no reports since winter break.

The reports in the crime log from week eight included separate incidents with the charges of carrying concealed weapons in Euclid Commons Building 4, and assault and menacing in the Student Center. Petty theft and criminal damaging or endangering in The Edge remain open. An arrest was made in the South Garage for physical control.

The other three reports from week eight were one fire alarm and two supervisory smoke alarms.

Over spring break, the bulk of reports occurred at residence halls. In separate incidents, petty theft was reported at Euclid Commons Building 4, Fenn Tower and The Langston. The Edge saw a charge of disorderly conduct.

Off campus, one person was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant. Two separate incidents with a combined three counts of criminal damaging or endangering, three counts of motor vehicle trespass, and one count of petty theft also occurred off campus over spring break.

Exactly the same as week eight, spring break saw one fire alarm and two supervisory smoke alarms.

Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the list of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.
