Results announced for CSU Student Government Association 2025 special election – The Cauldron
Cleveland State University has announced the results of the Student Government Association (SGA) special election, filling vacancies for vice president, treasurer, secretary and several senate seats.
Laurel Paul, a senior computer science major, was elected vice president. Surabh Saxena, a master’s student in information sciences, will serve as treasurer, and senior computer engineering major Abhinav Siri will serve as secretary after running unopposed.
In the senate election, liberal studies junior E.J. Wendt was elected to represent the College of Arts and Sciences, while health sciences student Afhan Taha will serve the College of Health. Accounting and Finance student Gisela Cortez won the College of Business seat.
Additional representatives include undergraduate at-large senator Kenleigh Black, graduate at-large senator Tyler Hatch, freshman class senator Urwah Yasser and residence hall senator Kayla Moore Adams.
The new officers will begin their terms following an orientation session on Oct. 7. Students will have the opportunity to meet with their representatives at a campuswide meet and greet scheduled for Oct. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at the Viking Marketplace.
