Five top-notch student lounges at CSU – The Cauldron
Cleveland State University, spanning over 85 acres and more than 40 buildings, offers more than 1,000 academic programs for its 14,000 students. Some commute, while others live directly on campus. The many lounges across campus are places where all of CSU can connect, study and interact.

Honorable Mention: Berkman Hall – 3rd floor:
In the winding hallways of Berkman Hall’s third floor are over 10 tables and armchairs for students to lounge in. During the day, this spot may be busy, but during less hectic times of day,, it’s the perfect quiet place to study.
4. Julka Hall: 1st floor
Julka Hall, located on the east end of campus next to Fenn Tower, is one of the newer buildings on campus and is currently undergoing updates.
This chill lounge has many windows, sleek furniture and a very open, modern feel to it. There’s many hidden little alcoves for studying, but the biggest section is right at the entrance. There are eight round tables with chairs that span the front area of the building. Down various halls, tables and chairs can be found at every turn.

3. College of Health: 1st floor

The College of Health isn’t somewhere that every student goes, especially those not majoring in nursing.
Head straight inside and go straight down the first hallway and you’ll find an updated area of comfy chairs, tall tables and big windows.

2. Berkman Hall: College of Arts and Sciences Lounge
Located on the first floor of Berkman Hall on the northwest side, the College of Arts and Sciences Student Lounge is a popular place for students to go. There are chairs, tables and restaurant style booths for some more comfort. This lounge is labeled for the College of Arts and Sciences participants, but it’s open to any student from any program.

1. Student Center Commuter Lounge: 3rd floor

This student lounge on the top floor of the Student Center is one of, if not the biggest student lounge on campus. Specifically designed for commuter students to have somewhere to hang out between classes or activities, it’s open to everyone.
They have couches, short tables, tall tables, and even a small stage. It spans almost one-third of the top floor of the student center.

Cleveland State University has many student lounges or areas to study that rope all of the buildings. Walk the interlink in the business building and pass what seems to be a never ending line of tables and chairs. The Urban and Business buildings have connecting basements that contain tables and vending machines. Venture throughout campus and you might just find your new favorite place to study.
