Vice President and Director of Cleveland State Athletics Scott Garrett, shared a statement about Boyer in light of the news.
“Dallas is as good of a person as there is in college athletics. We thank him for his seventeen years of service to CSU and the transformational impact he has had on the hundreds of student-athletes he has mentored during his time here.”
Boyer began with CSU women’s soccer as the assistant coach until 2016, after which he was then appointed as the third head coach in the program’s history in 2017. As head coach, Boyer finished with an overall record of 49-55-14 and a conference record of 31-29-8.
“I am so proud of what we have accomplished in moving CSU women’s soccer forward through the efforts of all the incredible coaches, staff, and fantastic student-athletes that I have enjoyed working alongside for the last seventeen years,” Boyer shared in a statement. “The program is in a healthy place full of talented and committed individuals, and I can’t wait to see how it will continue to improve.”
Boyer also emphasized his continuing commitment to CSU.
“I have been a proud Viking for almost two decades and will continue to support as strongly as ever in this next chapter of my life away from the sidelines,”
Carl Contrascier, associate head coach, will take over the team until a permanent replacement is found.
