CSU men’s soccer draws with Wright State on senior night – The Cauldron
Cleveland State men’s soccer took on Wright State at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, persevering on the field, while also celebrating senior night. With 200 people in attendance at Krenzler Field, the team recognized nine seniors: Josh Davis, Daniel Lacerda, Niklas Nannt, William Wagner, Frederic Heitzer, Jaume Rubio, Kyle Folds, Julian Pellegrini, and Daniel Tregansin.

The match’s first half was nothing short of competitive, with Wright State leading in shots and fouls. With a total of 10 shots, 2 saves and 14 fouls combined, the first 45 minutes came to a close with a score of 0-0.
In the 58th minute of the second half, Wright State’s Reece Allbaugh scored unassisted to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Within a span of a minute, Viking’s Marko Rimac, assisted by Albert Portas, swiftly responded with a goal from 25 yards out to tie up the game.
Both teams were unable to break the tie and, ultimately, finalized the game with a score of 1-1.
The Vikings currently have an overall record of 3-8-5 (.344) and a conference record of 2-2-4 (.500) with one regular season game left to go. With this draw, the Vikings finished their last and final game of the season at Krenzler Field.
CSU will take on Robert Morris on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium in Pennsylvania.
