Crime reports see slight incrase in week 10 – The Cauldron

A slight increase from last week, from March 17 through March 23, there were 12 reports listed in the Cleveland State Sixty Day Crime Log. Accounting for almost half of the reports were two fire alarms and three supervisory smoke alarms. 

Other reports included arrests made in separate incidents in the Student Center and at The Langston. On March 17, the Student Center incident included charges of disorderly conduct, criminal activity on school property, drug paraphernalia and assault. On March 23, the arrest at The Langston was in connection to criminal trespass and carrying concealed weapons.

One incident involving theft and motor vehicle trespass, which took place off campus. remains open. 

Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the list of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.

Under the Uniform Crime Reporting Program, Cleveland State University provides statistical information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. According to the CSU Police Department website, CSU publishes this information “as part of Cleveland State University’s commitment to a safe and informed campus community,” and it is in compliance with the Federal Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 (renamed the Jeanne Clery Act in 1998) and the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act.
