Cleveland State women’s cross country places 11th in the Horizon League Championship – The Cauldron
Cleveland State women’s cross country was back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Fairborn, Ohio for the 2023 Horizon League Championship, where the team finished in 11th place.

The Vikings raced in the women’s 6k at noon against their fellow conference teams. The total 6k time for the team was 1:57:56 minutes with an average individual time of 23:36 minutes. Several personal bests were recorded at the League Championship, five of which were freshmen, allowing the team to place 11th with a score of 256 points.
CSU was led by freshman Sage Colòn with a time of 23:27 minutes, followed by freshman Brooke Bechtel with a time of 23:32 minutes, junior Madelynn Madison with 23:34, freshman Natlie Keller with 23:39, sophomore Ana Crangle with 23:42, freshman Sophia Pomnean with 24:22, and senior Savannah Shaver with 25:47, all of whom finished with a personal best.
Other finishers for the Vikings included senior Kiannah Sarver with 23:53, freshman Mia Beemsterboer with 23:57, junior Ariana Coats with 24:05, and sophomore Madeline Crissman with 25:47.
The team will next be competing at the NCAA Regionals on Friday, Nov. 10 in Madison, Wisconsin.
