Car break ins top week 14 crime list amid decrease in reports – The Cauldron

maximios May 6, 2024 Guide

Car break ins and charges of criminal damaging or endangering top the list of crimes for week 14 of the spring semester, according to the Cleveland State Sixty Day Crime Log.

Week 14 saw nine total crime reports, the lowest total since week 8. Two fire alarms and three smoke alarms account for over half of this week’s reports.

Each of the car break ins occurred in Lot 43, resulting in three counts of theft, two counts of motor vehicle trespass, and one count each of petty theft and criminal damaging or endangering. These charges are currently listed as seven open felonies.

The two incidents involving criminal damaging or endangering at the Student Center and Campus Safety Building also remain open.

One individual was arrested off campus in an incident involving the possession of drugs.

Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the list of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.
