Car break ins remain atop week 15 crime list amid spike in reports – The Cauldron
Week 15 of the semester saw 17 crime log reports, nearly doubling the nine reports from the week prior, according to the Cleveland State Sixty Day Crime Log. 18 charges remain open, 14 of which are felonies. Arrests were made for 12 charges.
Many of the week’s incidents occurred off campus. One individual was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and another for obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Arrests were also made for driving under a suspended or revoked license, and physical control.
Criminal damaging or endangering, theft, and motor vehicle trespass comprise the majority of reports for the week.
In South Garage, felonies remain open for possessing criminal tools, motor vehicle trespass, theft and criminal damaging or endangering. A separate incident in the same location had arrests made for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, criminal damaging or endangering, motor vehicle trespass and carrying concealed weapons, though a charge of criminal tools from the same incident remains an open felony. Felonies also remain open in a third incident from the South Garage, again involving the charges of criminal damaging or endangering, theft and motor vehicle trespass.
Lot 27 also had a report of an incident involving criminal damaging or endangering, theft and motor vehicle trespass where felonies remain open.
In the residence halls, Euclid Common Building 4 had a report of sexual imposition that remains open. The Edge saw one report involving two counts each of theft, criminal damaging or endangering, motor vehicle trespass, and one count of petty theft, though there was no disposition of the charges listed.
Also on campus, an individual was arrested for felony warrants in the law building.
One fire alarm and five supervisory smoke alarms account for over a third of this week’s reports.
