Arts & Entertainment at CSU: April 2025 Catalog – The Cauldron

Students may find it difficult to keep track of and coordinate for all that happens around them on campus. This monthly collection of local arts & entertainment provides a varied starting point, including dates, times, locations, prices and more, so hopefully, everyone can find something of interest and plan to attend! 

Who’s to say if April showers will bring May flowers, but April’s myriad of events will sure bring opportunities to enjoy music, dance and more!

On campus

April 11, 2025: Dirt Cheap: Planting with CAB

3:00 – 6:00 p.m. | Student Center Atrium

Students can bring their own planters to this Campus Activities Board (CAB) event for plants from a local shop, Urban Planting. The event is free and organized in conjunction with the Student Environmental Movement. 

April 11-12, 2025: Into the Woods

7:00 p.m. | Waetjen Auditorium

Join CSU’s School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance for their Spring 2025 production of Into the Woods. This musical retelling of classic fairy tales features the music of Stephen Sondheim performed by the student community. Tickets are $5 for CSU students with their school ID.

April 15, 2025: Student Drag Show

7:00 – 11:00 p.m. | Student Center Ballroom

The Queer Student Alliance of CSU will be hosting a drag show, featuring student drag performers. Enjoy an evening of lip-syncs, stunning outfits, and self-expression at this inclusive event.

April 16-27, 2025: Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival

Various Times | Waetjen Auditorium, Drinko Recital Hall & Wolstein Center

Experience the 45th year of the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, the largest Indian classical music festival outside of India. The festival takes place in a variety of locations for 12 days, expecting over 10,000 attendees, and the majority is free to enjoy. Programs can be found on the festival’s website.

April 18-19, 2025: Spring Dance Concert

Various times | Outcalt Theatre

Enjoy this yearly CSU Dance tradition, featuring student choreographers, guest artists, and a variety of dance styles. Support dance students in their performances and self-expression through dance. Tickets are $5 for CSU students with ID.

April 24, 2025: Camp Rock Spring Fest

6:00 – 9:00 p.m. | Washkewicz Engineering Lawn

Join the Campus Activities board for an evening of music, featuring two local bands. Out on the lawn of the Engineering building, celebrate the end of the semester and the beginning of spring with live music.

April 8, 2025: Guardians Opening Day

4:10 p.m. | Progressive Field

The Cleveland Guardians have their season opening day, playing against the Chicago White Sox. Enjoy the first home game of Cleveland’s baseball season, and the start of summer downtown. 

April 18, 2025: Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Greater Cleveland Aquarium

 Help preserve Cleveland’s parks and waterfront while volunteering with the Greater Cleveland Aquarium to clean up Wendy Park and the beach for spring and summer. Attendance requires pre-registration and includes free entry to the aquarium after the clean up.

April 19: Remi Wolf

7:00 p.m. | The Agora

Pop artist Remi Wolf, known for her bold and colorful style and lyrics, brings her tour to Cleveland with openers Dana and Alden. The show is one of many on her Big Ideas international tour and will take place at The Agora, a historic Cleveland venue.

April 22- May 11, 2025: Shucked

Various Times  |  Connor Palace

The KeyBank Broadway Series’ spring show is Shucked, a musical comedy about corn. The show tells the story of Cob County, whose entire culture and economy relies around the crop, and what happens when the corn begins to die.

April 5, 2025: Cleveland’s Holi Festival

7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | The Madison Venue

Celebrate the Festival of Colors at a historic Cleveland venue. Food, drinks, and traditional powdered color dyes are included in the ticket price. Clothes worn to the event are sure to get colorful, so make sure to wear clothes that allow for embracing the vibrance of the event.

April 9, 2025: Midnight Rental presents Secret Movie Night

8:00 p.m. | Grog Shop

The Grog Shop in Coventry hosts a series of evenings featuring a mystery movie from a collection of VHS horror, thriller and campy classics. Complete with late-night snacks,  fun film facts and cheesy of-the-era commercials to accompany the movie, the event is open to all ages with tickets starting at $10.  

April 12, 2025: Poetry in the Garden

2:00 – 4:00 p.m. | Cleveland Botanical Garden

Join two sets of local poets at the Cleveland Botanical Garden to embrace spring through their literary work. The writers will delve into how nature has influenced their work, and the reading will be followed by a panel of arts and science experts to discuss trees and the impacts of climate change. Attendance is free with registration, including access to the gardens. 

April 21, 2025: Dyngus Day Cleveland

10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. | Various Locations

Dyngus Day, or Wet Monday, is a Polish tradition on the Monday following Easter. In Cleveland, that means a celebration including polka music, food, beer, street vendors and more at Detroit Ave. and West 58th in the Gordon Arts District. Tickets are $14 and an estimated 45,000 people will be in attendance this year. 

April 25-27, 2025: Fine Print Fair 2025

10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Cleveland Museum of Art Atrium

The 40th annual Print Fair will take place in the Ames Atrium of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Explore one of the largest displays of prints in the country from 15 dealers for free. Beyond being a fantastic display and opportunity for those interested in adding to their collection, the fair also supports the print collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art through a percentage of its proceeds.
